But you can find out the overall performance of a PC only after special tests that provide comprehensive information about the computer.

Step 1
The Windows 7 operating system has a good built-in tool for testing overall PC performance. If you have this operating system, then you do not need to download other programs for testing. Follow the steps below to test the performance of your PC. Right-click on the "My Computer" icon and select "Properties" from the context menu. Next, find the "System" section. In it, select "Evaluate your computer".
Step 2
The PC component testing procedure will begin. During testing of the video card, the screen may go blank for a few seconds. Since all the resources of the computer will be used during the testing operation, it is better not to start other programs during this time.
Step 3
After completing testing, you will receive an overall result and a result for all major components. The processor, hard drive, RAM and video card are evaluated. The base figure equals the weakest PC component. For example, if all components received a score of 6, and the memory speed was 4.5, then, therefore, the overall performance of the PC lags behind due to the slow operation of the RAM. The maximum performance index is 7, 9. After testing, you will know the performance of each PC component.
Step 4
If you have a different operating system installed, you can use special programs. Download the AIDA64 Extreme Edition application from the Internet. Install it on your computer. Run the program and wait for the download of your system information to complete.
Step 5
On the left side of the program window there is a line "Test". Click on the arrow next to this line. A list of components that you can test will appear. For a general test, select the CPU Qween option. After that, right-click on any area on the right side of the window. In the context menu, select Refresh. Now wait for the testing operation to complete. Its results will be highlighted in yellow. The higher this figure is to the maximum possible (written at the top), the higher the performance of the computer.
