Computer speed is very important for comfortable work on it. After all, when applications "freeze", windows open slowly and other not very pleasant moments appear, comfortable work is out of the question. Fortunately, you can speed up your PC without upgrading it. You just need to correctly configure the system, disable unnecessary functions and carry out some operations.
Necessary
Computer with Windows OS
Instructions
Step 1
If you are using the Windows 7 operating system, then you can speed up your computer in this way. Right-click on an inactive area of the desktop. In the context menu that appears, select "Personalization". A window will appear with a list of topics.
Step 2
At the bottom of the window there is a section "Basic simplified themes". Select "Classic" from this list. After a few minutes, your desktop theme will change. The fact is that Windows 7 uses Windows Aero technology. This technology gives graphics the most beautiful effects (pop-up windows, transparent background), but at the same time uses additional PC resources. Changing the theme to classic will disable Aero technology.
Step 3
The following method is suitable for all Windows operating systems. Right-click on the My Computer icon. Then select "Properties" in the context menu. If you have Windows 7, then click on the "Advanced system settings" tab. If your OS is Windows XP, then select "Advanced". In the window that appears, find the "Performance" section. Click the Options button. In the window that appears, check the "Provide best performance" item. After that click "Apply" and OK.
Step 4
A very good way to speed up your computer is to defragment your hard drive. It is done like this. Click Start. Select "All Programs", then - "Standard Programs" - "Utilities" - "Disk Defragmenter". Select all partitions of your hard disk (to do this, hold CTRL and click on the partitions with the left mouse button). After that click on "Defragment Disk". Now wait for the defragmentation procedure to complete. If you are doing this procedure for the first time, then it will take a lot of time. It is better not to boot your computer or run other programs during defragmentation.
