Instructions
Step 1
Many users use the Microsoft Office suite of applications in their work. This includes the Microsoft Office Picture Manager. If you have it installed, open the image in it. Go to the "Picture" - "Resize" tab. Set the resizing options. You can choose a standard aspect ratio: large or small document, web document, etc., set an arbitrary width and height, or specify a percentage of the original height and width. Below in the field "New size" will be displayed your selected parameters in pixels. If everything suits you, click OK. Save the drawing. If you want to change the "weight" of the photo, for example, reduce its size from 1.5 MB to 100 KB, and not change the aspect ratio, then click "Picture" - "Compress Pictures". Set compression options: for documents, web pages, e-mails. At the bottom, in the "Estimated total size" field, you will see what size the original file is and how much it will "weigh" after compression. Click OK and save the file.
Step 2
An example of resizing an image using the popular Adobe Photoshop editor. Open the photo in this program. From the Image menu, choose Image Size. The settings window will open. Specify the desired resolution, height and width in pixels. If you do not want to change the proportions, then change only the width and height and check the box next to the item "Maintain aspect ratio". The second parameter will be calculated automatically. In the Size box, you will see the new file size in kilobytes or megabytes. Click OK. Save the file.
Step 3
Photoshop also lets you batch resize photos. But it is easier to do this in a special small program such as ImageResizer. In it you can process a large number of images at high speed. The program is free and available for download on the official Microsoft website. It runs without installation. Launch Image Resizer and open the desired folder in it. Highlight the files and click Open. In the settings window that appears, set the desired parameters: resolution, quality, aspect ratio, folder to save and click OK.
