Were it not for the coding of TV signals, we could watch dozens and hundreds of interesting channels without spending a penny on it. However, this fabulous life was not destined to come true due to the fault of the channel owners, who use various encodings in order to deprive us of the most interesting TV shows. Fortunately, some encodings can be decoded. These include the biss encoding, which is so easy to decode that it seems like a simple formality.

Necessary

Computer with Internet access, mounted satellite equipment and all the necessary software

Instructions

Step 1

Preparing to receive a coded signal

To watch satellite TV, you need to install a set of satellite equipment (network card, antenna, converter) and a program for watching TV channels (viewer), for example, ProgDVB.

The viewer must be configured to receive the signal of the channel that you are going to decode, i.e. its indicator should indicate the presence of a signal. If the channel is biss encoded, when the channel is turned on, a black screen will be displayed instead of the video image.

Step 2

Search for biss keys

Search on the Internet and download the biss keys for the TV channel you are going to watch. Along with the keys on the sites, the values of some signal parameters (VPID, PMT, SID, CAID) are posted, which should also be saved. Be sure to check if these are the exact keys you want. This is verified by satellite name and channel characteristics - frequency, symbol rate, polarization, FEC.

Step 3

Correcting data in proper form

The biss keys are in the form of eight pairs of hexadecimal digits (for example, 11 22 33 44 55 66 77 88). Discard the 4th and 8th pairs. Six pairs of numbers will remain (11 22 33 55 66 77). This is the form in which the biss keys should be used. You will need to carry out a similar operation on the downloaded keys.

Other data must be entered in decimal form. Sometimes they are presented in hexadecimal form (0xXXXX). In this case, convert them to decimal form using the Windows calculator opened as "engineering" (Windows XP) or "programmer" (Windows 7). If the keys are in decimal form, you don't need to do anything with them.

Step 4

Installing the vPlug Plugin

Download the latest vPlug plugin (vPlug 2.4.6). Unpack it into the Plugins folder of the ProgDVB directory.

Start the ProgDVB program. A yellow vPlug plugin icon should appear along with the program icon in the notification area.

Turn on the channel you intend to watch. It is possible that the keys for this channel have already been entered into vPlug. In this case, the video image will appear on the ProgDVB screen.

Step 5

Entering keys

If the viewer still displays a black screen, right-click on the vPlug icon and select the Editor option. In the window that opens, select the SID's menu. A list with a list of channels will open in front of you. The channel that you intend to watch should be added to this list. Data is entered into the forms located on the left of the window.

Enter the downloaded data in them along with the keys. All fields, except for the DCW field, must be completed. The missing data must be taken from the Channel Properties window. To do this, right-click on a channel in the channel list on the left or right of the ProgDVB window. The "Channel Properties" window will open. Check the correspondence of the frequency, symbol rate, polarization and FEC of the signal indicated in it to those channel parameters for which the keys were downloaded. From the "Attributes" and "PIDs" options at the bottom of the window, take the missing data to fill in empty vPlug's Editor forms.

Step 6

At the same time, check that the parameters in the "Channel properties" correspond to the values that were downloaded together with the keys. As a result of this work, all data entered in the "Channel Properties" and the vPlug's Editor must correspond to each other. Confirm the changes made (in the "Channel Properties" - "Apply" and OK, in the vPlug's Editor - "Add new").

Step 7

Restart ProgDVB. If everything was done correctly, a video image should appear in the viewer window. If it does not appear, check the entered data. Most likely, the error occurred due to confusion in the IDs of various forms, since there are many of them (VPID, SID, CAID).
