Many modern electronic devices use flexible stranded cables. They connect the individual fixed and movable components of the device. But very often these connections break. In this case, do not panic - it is as easy as shelling pears to restore the loop functionality if you have minimal skills in handling a soldering iron.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare a rosin alcohol flux. To do this, grind the rosin into powder and dissolve in an alcohol solution in a ratio of one part of rosin to six parts of alcohol. Stir well to completely dissolve the rosin in the alcohol.
Step 2
Take the insulating plate and glue the damaged section of the cable to it using Moment glue. It will make this area more rigid and will not allow more breaks in this area.
Step 3
Place the damaged area under a magnifying glass or microscope and use a scalpel to carefully remove the insulation from the conductive paths near the damaged area. Scrape the tracks about a millimeter from the break.
Step 4
After that, apply a rosin-alcohol solution with a brush to the areas cleaned of insulation. Tin and warm up the soldering iron well and lightly touch this area with it. There should be a minimum of solder so as not to flood or bridge the conductive connections of the loop tracks.
Step 5
Take a thin wire of 0.15 mm, clean it from varnish and apply a rosin solution to it. Tin it 15-25 mm from the edge and solder to the first damaged track of the cable from the edge. Bend the wire that is soldered to the two sides of the track so that in the middle the wire rises 1-1.5 mm above the surface of the loop - so it will not stretch after the soldering point has cooled. Begin to solder the loop from the distant damage.
Step 6
Build up the train if it breaks between the moving parts. Choose an identical train of the required length, from which to make the insert. Carefully cut the ribbon cable where it was damaged. Strip and solder the ribbon and insert as described above. Make sure that the traces of the loops are perfectly aligned. After that, insulate the bare sections of the wires at the soldering points with glue.
