Cleaning the desktop item "Taskbar" of a computer running Microsoft Windows can be done in several ways, related to standard OS tools.
Instructions
Step 1
Call the main menu of the Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating system by clicking the "Start" button to perform the operation of cleaning the desktop item "Taskbar" and go to the "Control Panel" item.
Step 2
Expand the Appearance and Personalization node and expand the Taskbar and Start Menu link.
Step 3
Select the "Notification area" tab of the dialog box that opens and uncheck the boxes on the system icons of the selected programs.
Step 4
Call the "Configure" dialog by pressing the button of the same name and call the context menu of the icon to be deleted by means of the right mouse button.
Step 5
Specify the "Hide" command and confirm the execution of the command by pressing the OK button.
Step 6
Save the selected changes by clicking the "Apply" button and confirm your choice again by clicking the OK button.

Repeat the above procedure for each selected application icon, but remember that a complete cleaning is possible only after uninstalling the program itself (for Windows Vista).

Call the main menu of the Windows XP operating system by clicking the "Start" button to perform the procedure for cleaning the desktop item "Taskbar" and go to the "Run" item.

Enter the value regedit in the "Open" field and confirm the launch of the registry editor utility by clicking OK.

Expand the HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindows CurrentVersionPoliciesExplorer branch and open the Edit menu in the top toolbar of the application window.
Step 11
Point to the New command and select the DWORD option.
Step 12
Enter the value NoTrayItemsDisplay as the name of the parameter to be created and "1" in the "Value" line.

Exit the Registry Editor tool and restart your computer to apply the selected changes (for Windows XP).
