Wi-Fi makes it easy and quick to network disparate devices such as computers, laptops, and even cell phones. The price to pay for this convenience is the poor security of wireless networks. To reduce the risk of unauthorized access to information, you can mute the Wi-Fi signal.
Instructions
Step 1
In order to block the interfering Wi-Fi signal of a neighboring access point, you can use a special paint that dampens radio waves. It contains iron oxide and aluminum oxide, which block high-frequency radiation. The coating particles create a magnetic field that resonates at the same frequency as the radio wave to be blocked. Unfortunately, it is quite difficult to buy such paint, besides, not everyone will dare to repaint the walls, especially if they are already covered with wallpaper.
Step 2
Use a special Wi-Fi signal jammer. There is a wide range of devices on the market, from mobile, the size of a matchbox, to stationary, covering a large area. The disadvantage of using this kind of equipment is the impossibility of selective blocking of devices - all networks are blocked indiscriminately. In addition, there may be problems with cell phones and other communication devices.
Step 3
Use a well grounded iron cage made of conductive material. It should contain all equipment whose signal you want to block. The quality of signal blocking depends on the thickness of the material from which the cage is made and the size of the cell.
Step 4
Disable Wi-Fi signal. Unauthorized access to the wireless network cannot be obtained if it is disabled. Use a wired connection if necessary. If your device does not have a LAN connector, use a USB network card.
Step 5
Configure the access point. Install WPA-2 encryption with a key length of at least 128 bits. Correct configuration of your wireless equipment will prevent unauthorized access. Use a MAC address filter if necessary. Add the necessary addresses to the whitelist, block the rest.
