Laptop computers have become technical devices for a long time, with the help of which one can communicate while being in different parts of the world. Previously, this was only possible by sending letters by e-mail. Now, thanks to the built-in microphone, it is possible to voice communication using a laptop. However, there are times when the built-in microphone needs to be turned off.
It is necessary
- - a manual for your laptop;
- - instructions for the program of voice communication;
- - Screwdriver Set.
Instructions
Step 1
Check the manual for your laptop. All laptop models are individual. Some have a separate key that is responsible for turning on and off the built-in microphone, while others do not. As a rule, a modern laptop has, in addition to a built-in microphone, a special line-out through which you can connect an external microphone.
Step 2
Most modern models have a hardware switch. Thanks to this device, you do not need to make any changes to the settings yourself. The system will automatically turn off the built-in microphone as soon as you connect the external one through the line-out of your laptop.
Step 3
Click the Start menu and select the Control Panel tab. Then click on the item "Sound". Select the "Recording" tab at the top. You will now see a list of working microphones. Usually there are two of them - "Microphone" (this is a device built into your device) and "Line-in" (that external microphone that you yourself connected to the laptop).
Step 4
Double-click the left mouse button to bring up the built-in microphone menu. At the very bottom there is a "Device Application" item. In the drop-down menu, select the line "Do not use this device (off.)
Step 5
Then click the "Apply" and "OK" buttons. Your built-in microphone is now turned off. This sequence is relevant for laptop computers running Windows 7; it may differ slightly on other operating systems.
Step 6
You can also temporarily disable and disable the built-in microphone directly from the interface of almost all voice communication programs. To do this, you need to read the instructions for this program. In most cases, you just need to click a specific button in the program window.
Step 7
Turn off the built-in microphone mechanically if you want to be safe from accidental activation or from unauthorized access to your device. To do this, disconnect the microphone from the internal connector.
Step 8
Find the sound hole. If it is located on a laptop monitor, then to disable it, you just need to remove the bezel. Disconnect all plugs. Find the bolts under them.
Step 9
Unscrew them carefully. Then open the latches with a plastic screwdriver or credit card. Find the microphone itself and carefully remove it from the groove by disconnecting the shoe.
Step 10
If the microphone is located on the bottom of the laptop, then make a partial disassembly of the case and disconnect the microphone in the same way.
Step 11
The microphone can be completely pulled out or left inside the housing by simply unplugging the shoe.
