Step 1
Use a network cable to create a local area network between laptop and computer. Use it to connect the network adapters of the system unit and the laptop.
Step 2
After completing this operation, you have already received a ready-made working local network. Now configure the network adapters so that the laptop can access the Internet using the computer's connection to the provider's server. Connect the second network card to the system unit.
Step 3
Install the drivers for this device. Connect this network adapter with the cable of the provider. Set up a new internet connection if it's not ready to go yet.
Step 4
Open the properties of the created connection. Select the "Access" tab. Activate the first item of this menu, allowing computers on the local network to use this connection to the Internet. In the next paragraph, specify your local network.
Step 5
Go to the settings of the network adapter connected to the laptop. Select the Internet Protocol TCP / IP (v4). Click the Properties button. Give this NIC a static IP address, which will be 99.99.99.1.
Step 6
Open Windows Firewall settings. Add the local network formed by the computer and laptop to the list of exclusions. Setting up the system unit is now complete.
Step 7
Open network connections on laptop. Go to the properties of the network card connected to the computer. Open the properties of the Internet Protocol TCP / IP (v4). Fill in the first four fields of this menu with the following parameters: - 99.99.99.2 - IP-address;
- Standard subnet mask;
- 99.99.99.1 - Main gateway;
- 99.99.99.1 - Preferred DNS server. Save the parameters of this menu.
Step 8
Connect to the Internet on your desktop computer. Make sure the laptop can access the internet.
