Printing a document in book format is one of the standard options of modern text editors. This procedure is organized differently in different applications of this kind. Most often, the Microsoft Office Word word processor is used to work with text documents.
Necessary
Microsoft Office Word 2007
Instructions
Step 1
Start the word processor Microsoft Word and load a document into it, the text of which you want to print in portrait format.
Step 2
Go to the Page Layout tab in the application menu and click on the largest button in the Page Setup group of commands - Fields. Open a window with detailed settings for page parameters by selecting the lowest line in the drop-down list - "Custom fields".
Step 3
Find the inscription "several pages" in the "Pages" section on the "Fields" tab - a drop-down list is placed to the right of it, in which you should select the "Brochure" line. In this section, another drop-down list will appear ("the number of pages in the brochure"), in which you can set a limit on the number of pages in the book being created. By default, there are no restrictions, that is, an open document will be printed in full.
Step 4
Adjust the size of the indents between the text and the edges of the sheet in the "Margins" section. Depending on how you plan to bind the book you are creating, you may need to set a nonzero value in the "Binding" field. Word will automatically set the "landscape" orientation of pages, and you will not be able to change this setting.
Step 5
If A4 sheets will be used for printing, then skip this step, otherwise set the required size in the "Paper Size" section located on the tab with the same name.
Step 6
If the pages of the document have numbering or headers and footers, then on the "Paper Source" tab, set the parameters for their positioning on the sheets of the book.
Step 7
Click OK and prepare the printer to print - make sure it is connected to your computer, plugged in, and supplied with sufficient paper and toner.
Step 8
Send the document for printing by calling the corresponding dialog by pressing the ctrl + p keyboard shortcut.
