Wired Internet users often face the problem of wires lying around the apartment. And when there are more than one computers, it is generally a headache. There is a rather simple way out of this situation - to hide the wires either in the wall or in boxes, while attaching a power outlet to it on one side. Thus, the Internet wires will no longer be lying around, and at the same time spoil the appearance of the room. The cable will be visible only from the computer to the nearest installed outlet, and not to the switch. This arrangement is also suitable for office spaces.

Necessary

  • - power outlet;
  • - twisted pair;
  • - crossover knife;
  • - screwdriver or screwdriver;
  • - a device for stripping wires.

Instructions

Step 1

Hide all existing Internet wires in the wall or, if this option is more convenient for you, in a specially designated box for them. At the same time, leave a piece of cable no more than half a meter long outside in the place where you plan to locate the power outlet.

Step 2

Remove the socket cover by pushing it from the side, or by prying the edges of the cover with a screwdriver or other similar object (it all depends on the type of latch). Position the base of the wall outlet so that the cable goes through the hole.

Step 3

Remove the outer insulating winding of the cable to a length convenient for subsequent installation (usually 2-3 centimeters are enough), straighten and separate from each other all the wires inside the power cord. Carefully strip off the ends with a special knife.

Step 4

Take the second part of the socket and look at its back - there is a color scheme on it that matches the colors of the wires of the network cable.

Step 5

Using a cross-connect knife, fit all the existing cable wires into the socket connectors according to the color scheme on the spread of its second side. Be extremely careful and attentive when performing this part of the work, because due to an incorrect connection, the Internet will not work, and you will have to repeat the entire installation process again.

Step 6

Connect both parts of the socket, secure it with a screwdriver or screwdriver. Fix the cable coming out of it with special fasteners for wires (usually they are white brackets with small studs, they can be purchased at any hardware or hardware store) at regular intervals.

Step 7

At the free end of the cable, fit the plug for connecting the cable to the modem or network card and connect it to the corresponding port on the computer.
