Step 1
First, try looking at the hardware name in Device Manager. This method only works if all the necessary drivers are installed on the PC. Open the start menu.
Step 2
Right-click on the "Computer" icon and select "Properties". Go to the "Device Manager" menu by clicking the left mouse button on the link of the same name.
Step 3
Expand the device category you want, for example, Display Adapters. Find out the name of the required equipment. View the model names of other devices in the same way.
Step 4
The obvious disadvantage of this method is that you cannot determine the device model before installing the drivers. Usually, it is for this that they initially find out the name of the equipment. Install the Speccy program. This is a free analogue of the powerful analyzer Everest.
Step 5
Start the specified application. Wait while it collects information about connected devices. Expand the desired tab, for example Graphics Devices. Write down the model of the video card or other equipment you need.
Step 6
If all attempts to find out the device model programmatically were in vain, use the automatic driver update program. Download the Sam Drivers app and install it.
Step 7
Open this program by running dia-drv.exe. After completing the analysis of available devices, you will be presented with a list of drivers that can be updated. Follow the procedure for installing new files. In this case, it is best to initially select the minimum set of drivers. Install the stable version of the software after finding out the exact model of the device.
Step 8
After it completes, restart your computer. Use the Device Manager menu or Speccy application to determine the model of the required hardware.
