Hidden folders and files are created specifically to hide information from the user that has absolutely no meaning. On the other hand, hidden are usually very important system files, the damage or modification of which is unacceptable.
Hidden folders and files are mostly created automatically after installing the operating system on the user's computer. Sometimes it becomes necessary to make them visible and add or change some information in them. It is worth noting that mostly documents that cannot be changed are located in automatically hidden files and folders. Otherwise, the user may experience problems related to the operation of the personal computer.
The process of opening hidden folders and files
The user can make visible or hide folders at will. Absolutely everyone should understand that in case of deleting or changing folders hidden by the system, various kinds of problems may arise.
In order to make hidden folders visible in the Windows XP operating system (the same principle can be used when working with Windows Vista), you just need to open the disk or any other folder. In the folder itself, you need to select the "Service" tab and click on the "View" line. After that, several tables will appear before the user. To change folder parameters, you need the "Additional parameters" table. Here you need to unscrew the slider to the very bottom and find the line "Show hidden files, folders and drives". After checking the box on this line, the user will immediately have access to the function of viewing hidden folders and files.
You can also open hidden data from the control panel. To do this, go directly to the "Control Panel" itself and select "Folder Options". Then you need to do all of the above.
Hidden files and folders that the user chose to open for themselves will have a slightly different appearance. Such files will be translucent, so that it will be possible to distinguish between those files or folders that the user added on their own, from those that were previously hidden from him. Thanks to this, the user will not be able to make mistakes if he needs to edit or delete any file. Thus, if the system files, previously hidden from the user's eyes, are not changed, the computer will work in the same mode.
Back to the roots"
If it becomes necessary to return hidden folders, files and disks to their previous state, then you need to do the same process. As a result, you just need to uncheck the box "Show hidden files, folders and drives" or use the special button "Restore by default". It should be noted that if you have made any changes in these parameters before, then absolutely all values will return to their original form.
