A monitor is a device that informs the user of the results of the CPU's calculations. It is clear that its malfunction makes work impossible. There can be many reasons for the blanking of the screen.

Step 1
Notice the indicator on the front of the monitor next to the Power button. If it doesn’t light up, the monitor may be off or the power cord is faulty. Press the power button, replace the power cable. If the situation has not changed, there is most likely a malfunction in the monitor power circuit. You need to contact a specialist.
Step 2
If the indicator is on, but when the computer is turned on, it does not change color or brightness, and the message “No video signal” appears on the screen, there may be a problem with the interface cable. Disconnect the system unit from the mains and replace the cable with a known good one (you can ask a friend to check it). It is necessary to disconnect the computer from the power so that when the video signal cable is connected, there is no short circuit at the video card connector.
Step 3
When the computer is turned on, the BIOS runs a system unit test (POST). When a malfunction is detected, a combination of audible signals is issued, depending on the nature of the malfunction. If you hear short and long "beeps", disconnect the system unit from the power supply, unscrew the tightening screws and remove the side panel.
Step 4
Remove the video card and the RAM card from the slot, clean the contacts with an eraser and put them back. Turn on your computer. If the image does not appear, try borrowing these devices from your friends. Please note that they are supported by your motherboard. Connect the monitor to the integrated video card (as a rule, modern motherboards have them).
Step 5
If these manipulations did not help, carefully examine the motherboard. It may have swollen or leaking capacitors, damaged conductive tracks. See how the CPU cooler behaves after turning on the power. If it starts spinning up and stops immediately, the problem may be in the same swollen capacitors on the motherboard or in a faulty power supply. Try to find a known working power supply for a while and connect it to the motherboard.
Step 6
A situation is possible when the image is displayed on the monitor, but of very low quality. In Control Panel, double-click the System node, go to the Hardware tab and click Device Manager. If there is a yellow exclamation mark next to the video adapter icon, the driver is not installed on that device.
Step 7
Using the programs CPU-Z, Everest or SiSandra, determine the type of video card. Go to the manufacturer's website, download the driver and install.
