One of the main characteristics of RAM is its frequency. The larger it is, the higher the performance of the computer. Of course, not only this indicator determines the performance of the PC, but it is very important. There are several ways to find out the frequency of the RAM.
Necessary
- - CPUID CPU-Z program;
- - AIDA64 Extreme Edition program.
Instructions
Step 1
The easiest way is to look at the memory frequency on the package for it, if, of course, there is one. The problem is that this packaging is given out when buying expensive models. Alternatively, you can look at the warranty certificate if it contains a description of all the individual components of your computer.
Step 2
But it is best to use special programs to view the memory frequency. Only with their help can you determine the real frequency at which your system memory operates. One of the simplest programs is called CPUID CPU-Z. But, nevertheless, its functionality is enough to find out the frequency of the RAM. Download the utility and install it on your computer.
Step 3
Run CPUID CPU-Z and go to the Memory tab. In the window that opens, find the Timing section. In this section, find the DRAM Frequency parameter. Its value is the frequency of the RAM.
Step 4
In addition, you can find out detailed information about each individual memory module. To do this, go to the SPD tab. There is an arrow in the upper left corner. Click on this arrow, and a list of memory connection slots will appear. By selecting a specific slot, you can find out information about the module installed on it. If the screen is blank, then this means that no memory module is installed in the slot you have selected.
Step 5
Another program that can help you find out the memory frequency is called AIDA64 Extreme Edition. Install this application on your computer. Run the program.
Step 6
In the right window, select the "Motherboard" component. In the next window that appears, select the SPD parameter. After that, find the "Memory Properties" section. Find the line "Memory speed" in it. Accordingly, this is the frequency at which your RAM operates. Also in this window you can view other memory parameters.
