Microsoft Points can be purchased using bank cards in one of three traditional ways. The first way is to buy glasses from your local electronics store. The second is to buy them online through your account at Xboxlive.com, and the third is to buy Microsoft Points on your Xbox 360 console using a special menu.
Instructions
Step 1
Visit your local electronics store. Go to the video games section, find the Xbox accessories section. Purchase a special Microsoft Points payment card and register according to the instructions provided.
Step 2
Open your internet browser and go to Xbox.com. Click on the "Login" button located on the upper right side of the page. Enter your Xbox Live email and password.
Step 3
Click the Marketplace button located in the upper right corner of the web page. Click on the "Add" button to the right of your balance. Select the amount of Microsoft Points you want to deposit and click Next. Check the box "Add new credit card".
Step 4
Read the entry number of your bank card on its face. In the heading "Security Code", enter the appropriate set of numbers located on the back of the card. Choose what type of card you are using (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX). Click "Next".
Step 5
Select "Confirm" to approve the purchase. A certain amount will be charged from your account and will immediately appear in your Xbox Live account in the form of Microsoft Points.
Step 6
Turn on your Xbox 360 console. Sign in to your Xbox Live account. Highlight My Xbox in the main console menu. Click on your Xbox Live avatar icon. Click on the "X" button on the joystick to open the Microsoft Points menu.
Step 7
Go to the special tab to enter the number of points you wish to purchase. Select the "New Map" tab. Enter your bank card account information as shown on the screen. The security code is usually found on the back of the card. Click on the "Start" button to complete your purchase. The amount of points purchased should be displayed in the main Xbox Live menu, make sure you receive the correct amount.
