To successfully recover the operating system in the event of a failure of some of its components, it is recommended to use several functions. One of them is the creation of recovery checkpoints.
Instructions
Step 1
To prevent the loss of important information and quickly return the operating system to a healthy state, it is recommended to enable the automatic creation of recovery checkpoints. Open the Control Panel menu.
Step 2
Go to the System and Security menu and open the System submenu. Find the item "Advanced system settings" in the left column and navigate to it.
Step 3
In the window that appears, select the "System Protection" tab. Find a list of connected hard drives and their partitions. If opposite the section with the installed operating system there is an inscription "Disabled", then select this section and click the "Configure" button.
Step 4
Select "Restore system settings and previous versions of files." Find the "Maximum use" item below. The more disk space you allocate for creating recovery checkpoints, the more such points the system can store at the same time.
Step 5
To quickly restore the operating system to a working state, it is recommended to use additional protective functions. Open the System and Security menu and go to the Backup and Restore submenu.
Step 6
You can use two different methods to keep the current state of the Windows operating system. Select "Create a system image".
Step 7
Specify the location for storing the archive of your operating system. This can be one of your hard drive partitions, another networked computer, or DVD drives. Click "Next".
Step 8
A new window will display a list of partitions to be backed up and the approximate amount of free space required to store the system image. Click the "Archive" button to start the process.
Step 9
To start system recovery from an image, use the Windows Seven OS installation disc or various BootCDs.
