Working with a computer is both impossible and meaningless without a working monitor. It is the monitor that displays the result of the work of the system unit, whether it be spreadsheets, a movie or the text that you are reading. In order for a working monitor to last as long as possible, its competent operation is necessary, including correct connection to the system unit and to the electrical network.
Necessary
Surge protector or uninterruptible power supply (UPS), monitor, system unit, interface cable, power cable
Instructions
Step 1
Connect the monitor and system unit. To do this, use an interface cable, one end of which connect to the video card connector on the back of the system unit, and the other to the connector on the monitor. Then connect both devices to the surge protector or UPS with the power cable. Connect the surge protector to the mains.
Step 2
Next, you need to turn on the monitor power by pressing the "Power" button, turn on the system unit in the same way. If the monitor and the system unit are working properly and the power-on was correct, the indicator on the front of the monitor will change color from yellow to green or blue.
