Instructions

Step 1

Choose one of the data recovery programs. Examples include such popular products as UFS Explorer, R.saver, GetDataBack, etc.

Step 2

Download and install the program of your choice. To do this, run the installation file, read the license for use, select the installation location and, if necessary, other parameters.

Step 3

Run the application. After that, an automatic scan will take place, as a result of which you will see a list of detected partitions. Select the partition where you want to recover the information, and then configure additional parameters. They can be the type of the file system, the boundary of the scan being carried out, the encoding, the algorithm by which the scan will be carried out. Depending on the selected program, the settings may contain other items.

Step 4

Start scanning the corresponding section. Depending on its volume, connection method and other characteristics, scanning can take from a couple of minutes to several hours. After the end of the process, the found files and directories will be displayed in the application window.

Step 5

Determine which files need to be restored. Some programs support the ability to preview, which makes the selection process easier. Select and mark the required files.

Step 6

To save the recovered information, click on the corresponding button on the program toolbar. Select the location for the files to be saved. Please note that saving is not possible on the same section of the media on which the scan was performed. So choose either a different hard disk partition or a different storage device.

Step 7

If recovery using one of the applications did not work, try another. Different recovery algorithms work in different ways.
