Before formatting a USB flash drive, it is recommended to make sure that it does not contain the necessary information. But sometimes it is impossible to protect yourself from unintentional formatting. In this case, data recovery will be required.
Instructions
Step 1
To recover data from a formatted flash drive, you will need one of the specialized applications. Examples are R.saver, Recuva, UFS Explorer, etc. Connect the USB flash drive to your computer and run one of the selected applications to recover information.
Step 2
After starting, wait until the end of the automatic scanning process. After that, the program interface will display a list of found partitions and devices connected to the computer. Select the USB flash drive from which you want to recover information.
Step 3
Configure information recovery options if desired. You can specify the type of file system, encoding, scan area of the flash drive memory for data recovery, algorithm. You can also leave all settings as default.
Step 4
After that, start scanning the selected device. The duration of the scan is influenced by such characteristics as the baud rate of the interface through which the device is connected and the size of the flash drive itself. The larger it is, the more time it takes. The result of the scan will be the display in the program interface of the found folders and files that have been deleted from the device.
Step 5
Carefully study the information provided and determine which data needs to be recovered. Select the ones you want to restore. After that, on the program toolbar, click the button responsible for starting the recovery process. In the window that appears, specify the location on the computer hard disk where the files to be restored will be written. It will be impossible to select the memory of the flash drive to save. Confirm the start of the restore procedure and wait until all the necessary files are restored.

If using the application did not bring the expected results, try another data recovery program.
