If your computer starts to make noise, or you want to do modding by externally transforming the internal structure of your computer, you need to remove and disassemble the fan. In the first case, this is a necessity. After all, in order for your fan to run quieter, you need to disassemble it in order to change the lubricant or replace something. And in the second case, you may need to paint your "turntable", install LEDs on it, etc.

By disassembling the fan and changing the lubricant, we can give it a second life

Instructions

Step 1

Remove the protective sticker from the back of the case. There will be a plug under the sticker, we also remove it, prying it first with something sharp.

Step 2

Now we need to use a screwdriver to remove the white plastic, which is located in the center of our fan, right under the cap. Carefully removing the plastic ring from the fan axis, put it aside so as not to lose it. Next in line we have is a black rubber ring, which plays a sealing role. With the same screwdriver we pry it off and remove it.

Step 3

Now carefully remove the impeller with the axle from the frame and the disassembly process is almost complete. You still need to remove the plastic washer from the fan frame. We ended up with two parts: a frame with electronics and an impeller with an axle.

Step 4

Further actions are determined by our goals. If the fan makes a lot of noise, remove the bearing from it, thoroughly wipe all parts of the bearing, and then add a few drops of grease. And the remnants of the old grease can be removed with gasoline or acetone.

Step 5

If we are going to carry out fan modding, then there are two options: either we transform the impeller, or the frame. In the first case, you can paint the impeller or change the geometry of the blades. And in the second, you can make some transformations with the frame. Just remember, if you paint the frame, cover all the electronics with something impervious to moisture, such as tape.

Step 6

After lubricating or guiding the "marafet", we assemble the fan, doing all the operations in the reverse order.
