Step 1

If you are using Microsoft Outlook 2003, find the following branches in the registry:

2. HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWindows Messaging SubsystemProfilesOutlook

3. HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice11.0OutlookOptions

Step 2

In order to open the registry, in "Start" select the section "Run" and enter the command regedit. Export the described lines from the registry. Then open the folder where your mail program data is stored: C: Documents and Settings username Local Settings Application Data Microsoft Outlook.

Step 3

Find the Outlook.pst file there and copy it to your new media. This file contains an archive of your mail. In order to save the history of mail addresses, find the Outlook. NK2 file in the same folder and save it as well.

Step 4

If you are using Microsoft Outlook 2007, open the registry and export only one line from there: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWindows Messaging SubsystemProfilesOutlook. Then, as described above, open the Outlook directory in Application Data on your hard drive and save two files - the mail archive and the history of the entered addresses.

Step 5

If you are in doubt whether you have found the files, you can transfer the entire Outlook folder from Application Data to a separate medium.

Step 6

After installing the mail program on a new computer, import the registry branches that you exported in the above steps, and install the copied files into the same folders from which you took them initially. Start Outlook and enter your username and password.
