The raster graphics editor Adobe Photoshop is one of the most common tools for high-quality professional correction of digital photos. It is often used to create the perfect face for a photo before it is published in the press. For this, it has all the necessary tools.
Necessary
- - original photo;
- - installed Adobe Photoshop.
Instructions
Step 1
Load the image to be processed into Adobe Photoshop. Press Ctrl + O. In the Open dialog, navigate to the directory with the desired file, select it and click "Open".
Step 2
Start with some basic face retouching. Visually highlight any major blemishes (such as birthmarks). Remove them with the Patch Tool. To do this, outline the desired area with this tool, and then move the selection with the mouse to a fragment of the image with clean skin.
Step 3
Remove smaller imperfections (eg freckles) with the Spot Healing Brush Tool or the Healing Brush Tool. Activate the required tool. Click on the Brush element in the panel above, select a brush of the appropriate diameter and hardness. If the Spot Healing Brush Tool is selected, just click on the areas with defects. If you are working with the Healing Brush Tool, first define a sample background by clicking on it while holding down the Alt key. Then adjust the image by brushing over it.
Step 4
Check the quality of basic retouching. View the image at different scales. Make sure there are no gross defects in the face image.
Step 5
Start toning the skin for a perfectly smooth effect. Duplicate the current layer. From the menu select Layer and "Duplicate Layer …". Change the layer's blend mode. Select Vivid Light from the drop-down list in the Layers panel.
Step 6
Invert the colors of the current layer image. Press Ctrl + I or select the menu items Image, Adjustments, Invert.
Step 7
Blur the image. Use the Gaussian Blur filter. Select the item with this name in the Blur section of the Filter menu. Set the Radius to 1-1, 5. Click OK.
Step 8
Apply a High Pass filter to the image. Select the appropriate item in the Other section of the Filter menu. For the Radius, select a value between 20 and 40 pixels. Click OK.
Step 9
Add a fully opaque mask to the layer. Select Layer, Layer Mask, and Hide All from the menu. The image of the lower layer will begin to display in the document window.
Step 10
Create semi-transparent areas on the mask so that parts of the image of the top layer begin to appear. Set the foreground color to white. Activate the Brush Tool. Choose a brush diameter that is comfortable to work with. In the top panel, reduce the Opacity to 10-15%. Paint over the areas of the image where you want to make the skin smoother. Achieve the desired amount of anti-aliasing.
Step 11
Save the processing result to a file. Press the Ctrl + Shift + S keys or select the "Save As …" item in the main menu. Specify the name, format and desired location for the file, click the "Save" button.
