Files and folders that we delete from the hard drive of the computer first go to the "Recycle Bin" or Recycle Bin. On the desktop, you can see a trash can icon. When you double-click the left mouse button (LMB) on it, a folder opens where all the files you deleted are located. You can delete them from the recycle bin (in this case, the standard Windows tools for file recovery are already indispensable) or restore them. The second will be discussed further.

Instructions

Step 1

So, in order to restore a particular file from the "Recycle Bin", that is, return it to the place on the hard disk from where it was deleted, you need to open it by double-clicking on the LMB. Next, find the desired file or folder, click on the RMB object and select the "Restore" item from the list of commands that opens. After this action, the object will disappear from the "Trash" - it returned to its original place.

Step 2

If you do not know or do not remember where the file that you want to restore was located before deletion, click on it with LMB and look at the very bottom of the "Trash" folder. There you will see text with the following content: “Original location: C: / Work. Now you know where the deleted file was - on drive C in the Work folder. You can restore the file.

Step 3

If you accidentally deleted a file from the "Recycle Bin", a flash card of a digital camera or a floppy disk, or used the Shift + Del key combination, you will have to use special programs that can be downloaded from the Internet. Here are some of them (with site addresses): R-Undelete - can be downloaded from the site www.r-undelete.com, Handy Recovery - www.handyrecovery.ru, Active Uneraser - www.uneraser.com, Recuva - www.biblprog.org.ua

Step 4

You should pay attention to the fact that only those folders and files that have been deleted from the hard disk of a personal computer can be restored from the "Recycle Bin". If a file has been deleted from a USB flash drive or CD / DVD connected to your computer, it cannot be restored. Again, if you need to recover deleted information from a flash drive, special programs mentioned in the previous step will help you with this. In the case of a disk, it will not work to recover information from it using special programs.
