While emptying the Recycle Bin displays a notification that files will be deleted permanently, this is actually far from the case. The probability of successful file recovery, especially at first after deletion, is very high. The main thing is not to write any information to the hard drive. Then the percentage for the successful outcome of the recovery operation will be very high.
Necessary
- - Computer with Windows OS;
- - UnErase program.
Instructions
Step 1
There are many programs for recovering deleted files, but most of them are commercial ones. You can use the UnErase program with a free trial period. Download it and install it on your computer.
Step 2
Run the program. In its middle window, select the disk partition from which the file was deleted to the trash. Now, at the top of the window, select the Search for deleted files command. The file search process will begin. Please note - the larger the capacity of your hard disk partition, the longer it will take to search for deleted files. You can monitor the process of searching for deleted files using the strip that appears immediately after its launch. When the strip reaches the end, the search will be completed.
Step 3
The list of found deleted files will appear in the middle window of the program. You can move the list of files down using the slider. Find the file you are interested in and click on it with the right mouse button. In the menu that appears after that, select the Restore item. An additional program window will pop up. Click on the browse button in the top line and specify the folder into which the selected file will be restored. After that, at the bottom of the window, click Next. The file will be restored to the folder you specified.
Step 4
If you need to restore a specific file, and you know at least part of its name, then it is better to do so. Select Advanced search from the main menu of the program. In the File name line, specify the name of the file. Also below, if you wish, you can specify the date the file was deleted, this will speed up the search. Among other things, you can select the file type and its approximate size. Then click New search. The list of files with the parameters that you have specified will appear in the middle window of the program. The procedure for directly restoring a file to a folder is exactly the same as in the previous case. The file will be restored to the desired folder.
