Instructions

Step 1

First of all, you need to bring the usb drive to the desired form, namely: completely format the USB flash drive and create a new partition, which is significantly different from the standard partitions of ordinary disks. To format the drive, it is recommended to use special software - USB Disk Storage Format.

Step 2

This utility is very common on the Internet and it will be quite easy to download it. No installation is required, you just need to run the executable file. After starting the program, the main window will appear in front of you. All values must be entered here. Select your drive in the "Device" block, file system, name of the flash drive.

Step 3

In the "Formatting Options" section, check the boxes next to the "Quick Format" items, then press the "Start" button or press the Enter key. After a while, a message will appear on the screen stating that the disk was formatted successfully. Click OK to close the Disk Storage Format window.

Step 4

Then you should run the Grub4Dos Installer program, which can be downloaded from the following link: https://sourceforge.net/projects/grub4dos/files. In the Device Name block, select the Disk item and specify the path to the flash drive. Click the Install button or the Enter key. In the window that opens, the program will notify you of the successful completion of the boot partition creation process.

Step 5

It remains to unpack the contents of the installation disk image to a USB flash drive and reboot the netbook to start installing the system. When you boot the laptop, press the F2 button, you will see the BIOS Setup window. In the Boot section, select either USB or USB-Drive as the default bootloader.

Step 6

Press F10 and Enter to save changes to BIOS settings. After restarting the netbook, the system installation window will appear on the screen.
