Initially, Terminal Servers and Terminal Services use TCP3389 for client connections. Most even advanced users are advised not to change these values; however, sometimes this need arises. To determine the server port and change it, follow the instructions below.

Step 1
There are a number of steps you must follow to define and change the default ports for each terminal connection created by the terminal servers. Run Regedit_32 and open the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MAСHINE / CurrentControlSet / Control / TerminalServer / RDPTcp. In this section, open the PortNumber subsection, in it, find the value 0000D3D (or 3389, converted into hexadecimal format). You need to change the port number using hexadecimal format and save the changes.
Step 2
Follow the steps below to change ports for specific connections on terminal servers. Run the Regedit_32 program and open the HKEY_LOCAL_MAСHINE / CurrentControlSet / Control / TerminalServer / WinStations / connection_name section. In this section, open the PortNumber subsection and find the value 0000D3D (or 3389, converted to hexadecimal format). You need to change the port number using hexadecimal format and save the changes.
Step 3
Keep in mind that in Terminal Server, you do not have to fully use the alternate ports, so the changes will only take effect when possible. In the event that conflicts arise after changing the server port, it will be necessary to set the previous value to 3389.
Step 4
In order to change ports on the client side, you need to do the following:
1. Start the Client Connection Wizard. Select NewConnection from the File menu and create a new connection. After completing this step, the new connection can be found in the list of connections.
2. Select the created connection. After that, select Export from the File menu, and save it as filename.cns.
3. Edit the file_file_name.cns in an ordinary Notepad, while the line ServerPort = 3389 should be replaced with the line ServerPort = xxx, where xxx will be equal to the new port specified on the terminal servers.
4. Import the file into the Client Connection Wizard. If an existing file has the same name, you will be prompted to overwrite it - you should confirm overwriting the file. After that, the client port configuration will match the changed value on the terminal servers. If the activation of new listening ports is required, a restart of the terminal servers will be required.
