With a password, users can protect their own confidential data from prying eyes. Unfortunately, novice users may face the problem of setting a password on a PC.
If a lot of confidential information is stored on the user's personal computer, it is best to set a password immediately. This method of protection will increase the security of all data stored on the computer, not only from the eyes of strangers, but also from some malicious software. Without a password, the computer will be available to absolutely everyone, which means that no one can guarantee that important information stored on a personal computer will not fall into the wrong hands. Setting a password in Windows 8 is very easy and simple.
In order to set a password in this version of the operating system, you need to move the cursor to the right corner of the screen, after which an additional menu will appear. Here you need to click on the "Options" button (gear icon). Then a new menu will open, in which users can change a variety of system parameters (go to "Personalization", "Control Panel", get information about the computer, turn it off, etc.).
To set or change a password, you need to click on the "Change computer settings" button. After clicking, a window will open in which the user can also change a variety of data. Clicking on the "Users" button on the right will open a menu in which you can change user accounts and set a password. To set or change a password, you must click on the "Create a password" inscription, which is located on the "Login parameters" panel. After clicking on the "Create Password" button, a new window will open. Here the user will have to enter the password itself, repeat it and the password hint in the corresponding lines and press the "Next" button.
It should be noted one significant nuance, which is that this procedure is valid only for the account under which the login was made. If there is a need to set a password for another entry, then you need to log in as an administrator. To do this, you need to press the key combination Win + W, and in the search bar you need to enter "User Accounts". Then, when you find this button and click on it, the corresponding window will open. Here you need to click on the line "Manage another account". After that, select the account on which you want to set a password and repeat the procedure.
