When editing large documents, users of text editors have probably more than once faced the problem of finding the right words or phrases. This situation is solved by introducing a special text search function in the Microsoft Office Word editor.

Instructions

Step 1

Download and install Microsoft Office Word software on your computer if not already done. Perform the installation by following the instructions of the menu items of the installer.

Step 2

Open the document in which you want to search for the desired word in the program you installed. In the upper right corner of the main menu tab, find the "Find" item and enter this word without mistakes, keeping the height of the letters. In the tab that opens in the window, you can only perform a search, on neighboring ones - replace the found one with another word or go to it in the text. This is quite convenient in cases where a spelling mistake is repeated many times in the text, or when you need to quickly find a certain passage of a document and go directly to it without reading the rest of it. This sequence of actions is typical for Microsoft Office Word 2007 and higher; in earlier releases, the menu has a different look.

Step 3

Please note that, like many other programs, Microsoft Office Word also provides shortcuts to menu functions, regardless of which version of this program is installed on your computer. To search for the desired word, you can use the key combination Ctrl + F, and then in the window, go through the tabs to select the desired action.

Step 4

To find the desired piece of text or word throughout the document in Microsoft Office Word version below 2007, which has an old-style menu, use the "Edit" item in the top toolbar. The same principle works here: you can find a word, replace it, go to it, the only difference is in the order of launching this function, which may vary depending on the version of the installed Microsoft Office software.
