Instructions
Step 1
It will be much better if you redistribute space on a formatted hard disk that does not contain any information. Working with a blank disk takes much less time and reduces the likelihood of errors during the division process. That is why it is recommended to divide the disk before installing the operating system.
Step 2
Insert the Windows 7 installation disc into the drive and start the OS installation process. When you see a window for selecting a local disk to install Windows 7, select the partition that you want to expand or shrink, and click the "delete" button.
Step 3
Repeat this operation with the second partition involved in the reallocation process. After that, click "create" and specify the size of the future section. Do the same to create the second section.
Step 4
If you need to resize partitions after installing Windows, then you need Paragon Partition Magic. It has a user-friendly interface and a wide range of functions. The version of the program should be selected based on the type of your operating system.
Step 5
Start the program and select expert mode. Find the "Redistribute free space between partitions" menu and navigate to it. Specify a couple of hard disk partitions with which you will continue to work. Click "Next".
Step 6
Specify the size of future hard disk partitions using the slider. Click Next. If you need to separate more space than the program allows, then manually delete unnecessary files from the partition.
Step 7
Now click the "apply changes" button. The computer will reboot and continue to perform the operation in MS-DOS mode. The process of redistributing free space can take several hours.
