Not every PC user is interested in the "insides" of his system unit. As soon as a computer breaks down or causes constant malfunctions of the operating system, some users want to find out the reason for their appearance by studying the composition of the computer's "brains".
Necessary
Everest Ultimate Edition software
Instructions
Step 1
Sometimes the cause of constant malfunctions is outdated device drivers or their complete absence. If you have the name and model of the device, you can download the drivers from the official site. Things are much worse when the above is not present, i.e. was lost. Of course, you can use a screwdriver to remove the side cover of the system unit and read the name or model of the board, but there are less dangerous ways.
Step 2
Today, there are several dozen programs that allow you to see the contents of your computer without any interference with the system. These programs include Everest Ultimate Edition. You can download it from the official website
Step 3
Follow the link, scroll with the mouse wheel to the middle of the page (block Discontinued EVEREST Packages) and click the Download link opposite one of the latest versions. This program allows you to use it in a limited version, because it is a paid program. To determine the chipset of your motherboard, the capabilities of the free version are enough.
Step 4
Start the installation of the program. Then double-click the left mouse button on the program icon (on the desktop or in the "Start" menu, section "All Programs", Everest). In the program window that opens, you will see a page divided into 2 parts: sections are displayed on the left, and their contents are displayed on the right.
Step 5
In the left part of the program window, open the "Motherboard" list by clicking on the "+" sign, and select the "Chipset" item. On the right side of the program, you will see two sections (types of bridges) - select "North Bridge". The "North Bridge" always means the name of the chipset.
Step 6
Now that you know the name of the chipset, go to the official website of your motherboard. In the search box, enter your chipset - you will have available drivers for downloading and subsequent installation.
