The convenience of working with a computer largely depends on the refresh rate of the image on the monitor screen. Unfortunately, system administrators rarely pay attention to such "trifles", believing that everyone should be able to change the screen frequency independently. In fact, choosing the most convenient screen frequency is not that difficult.

Instructions

Step 1

Adjusting the screen frequency for Windows 7.

Move the cursor to any free area of the screen, press the right mouse button. The context menu of the screen will open. Find the inscription "Screen resolution" in it, move the cursor over this inscription and press the left mouse button. The "Screen Resolution" window will open.

Step 2

In the lower right corner of this window, find the inscription "Advanced options". Move the cursor over it, press the left mouse button. The "Monitor Properties" window will open. At the top of this window, move the cursor over the "Monitor" tab and press the left mouse button. Click the Monitor Settings tab. In this tab in the middle there is an inscription "Screen refresh rate", immediately below it is a drop-down menu with a digital value of the current screen refresh rate.

Step 3

Before changing the refresh rate, be sure to check the box to the left of "Hide modes that the monitor cannot use", otherwise you may damage your monitor. To change the screen refresh rate, move the cursor over the triangular arrow to the right of the current screen refresh rate and press the left mouse button. A drop-down menu will appear with numerical values for the refresh rates of the screen. Place the cursor on the required refresh rate and press the left mouse button. Then press the "Apply" button (located at the bottom right of the window) by placing the cursor on it and pressing the left mouse button. The screen will dim for 1-2 seconds (the process of switching the refresh rate is in progress), then a confirmation window will appear with the inscription “Do you want to save these parameters?”. Click “Yes” to save or “No” to cancel the new refresh rate. If you have not confirmed and canceled (did not press either the "Yes" button or the "No" button) the new refresh rate, the display will return to the previous parameters after 15 seconds. Then click (move the cursor and press the left mouse button) on the "Ok" button 2 times.

Step 4

Adjusting the screen frequency for Windows XP

Move the cursor to any free area of the screen and press the right mouse button. The context menu of the screen will open, at the bottom of which is the inscription "Properties". Move the cursor over it and press the left mouse button. The "Properties: Display" window will open.

Step 5

At the top of the Display Properties window, hover over the Settings tab. In the tab that opens, move the cursor over the inscription "Advanced" (located at the bottom right of the window). Then press the left mouse button - the "Properties: monitor connection module" window will open. Move the cursor over the "Monitor" tab and press the left mouse button - the "Monitor" tab will appear. Perform further actions in the same way as in step number 3.
