Flash files are used primarily on websites, but can be adapted for desktop applications such as PowerPoint, or as a splash screen for a computer. To use Flash as a screensaver, the file must first be converted to EXE format using special software. After the flash conversion, the splash screen can be used as a presentation or just for entertainment.
Instructions
Step 1
Download a program to convert Flash to screensaver. For example Instantstorm, Axialis Screensaver Producer, or Flash Saver Maker. Install the program on your computer. To do this, double-click on the downloaded file and follow the instructions on the installation screen. The process will only take a few minutes.
Step 2
After the installation is complete, run the program. Click the Browse button to locate the flash file that you want to convert to a splash screen. Double click on a file to open it or start a preview.
Step 3
Look for the New Screensaver option or wait for a new window to open automatically (depending on which program you installed). Enter a name for the new screensaver file, and also select a folder on your computer where this file will be saved. Screensavers are usually saved in the My Pictures folder.
Step 4
Click the Options tab and set the screen saver options such as frame rate. If you want to add sound, go to the Sounds tab. This option allows you to include MP3 files in the screensaver. Follow the instructions to download your music. Click the Preview button to see the splash screen in action. Find the Create or Convert button to start creating your splash screen. Then go to the folder where you saved the file and find it (file extension is.exe).
Step 5
Right-click anywhere on an empty spot on your computer desktop. Click the Properties button and select the Screensaver tab. Select a new screensaver and set the number of seconds or minutes before the screensaver starts to display. Click the Apply and OK button to apply the new settings. Flash splash screen will start.
