After downloading the game on the Internet, most often we will see an archive or even several archives in front of us. Novice users in such cases sometimes get lost and do not always act right. Nevertheless, having gained some experience and knowledge, you will understand that opening the game from the archive is not too difficult a task.

Necessary

  • PC with installed archiver
  • Image Readers
  • Game archive

Instructions

Step 1

If you downloaded the game as an archive, you must unzip it. To do this, you can use the WinRar program. Highlight the archive file and right-click. In the menu that appears, select extract to current folder. The game will be unzipped and you can start it.

Step 2

If you don't have WinRar on your computer, you can use the free 7-zip utility. Select the file you want to unzip, right-click and select 7-zip from the context menu, unzip here, after which the unzipping process will begin.

Step 3

A slightly different situation arises if you need to unzip a game from a multivolume archive. To do this, you need to put all volumes in one folder, select the first file and unzip it using one of the programs described above. The archiver will automatically determine that all volumes are parts of one file and will connect them.

Step 4

Most often, after unzipping, you will receive a disk image of the game in iso or mdf format. You can run such files using a special program, for example, Daemon Tools. Once installed, it can be found in the tray next to the clock. In order to launch and install the game that you unzipped, find the Daemon Tools icon and right-click. In the context menu that appears, select Virtual CD / DVD ROM, then select the virtual drive and click Mount Image, or mount the image if you have a Russian version. After that, select the file with the disk image and click open. The game will be loaded into a virtual drive, and you can install it on your computer. Unlike many of its competitors, Daemon Tools has a Lite version, which is completely free and contains all the functions necessary to run games or other files that have an image format.
