When faced with a disk image for the first time, an inexperienced user often cannot understand how to work with it correctly. But having mastered the work with special software that allows you to run the iso format, all questions disappear by themselves.

Step 1
Remember the main newbie mistake and never make it: most iso files look like archives in appearance, and many novice users try to unzip them using WinRar or 7-zip. This is fundamentally wrong. Files of this type, of course, will be unpacked, but this can affect their performance, to the point that they will not start, and the disk image was not created for this at all.
Step 2
One of the most popular programs for reading iso files is UltraIso, and you can safely use it. It differs from its competitors in that with its help you can not only run iso files, but also edit them, removing unnecessary files from the image or, conversely, adding the necessary ones. In order to run a disk image, you need to open it with UltraIso. To do this, select any file with the iso extension, right-click and select "Open with" in the context menu.
Step 3
In the list that appears, select UltraIso, then in the "Tools" menu, click "Mount to virtual drive". It remains only to select the required file and click the "Mount" button. Everything, the image is running. It booted into a virtual drive next to the real one. You can find it by going to My Computer.
Step 4
In the event that you do not plan to edit iso files, another program, for example, Alcohol 120%, may be much more suitable for you. After starting the program, load the iso file into one of the virtual drives. To do this, select one of them (they are located in the lower panel of the program) and click on it with the right mouse button. Select "Mount Image", download the file, after which the image starts in the same way as in UltraIso.
Step 5
Daemon Tools is a worthy alternative to these two programs. Many people consider it even more convenient, because it immediately loads into the tray, so this program does not need an additional launch. Just find it next to the clock, right-click on its icon and select Virtual CD / DVD-ROM from the menu that appears, then "Drive" and "Mount image", then select the file, and it will be loaded into the virtual drive. Working with Daemon Tools is no more difficult than working with UltraIso or Alcohol 120%, but this program has an additional advantage: a completely free version of Daemon Tools Lite.
