True, you can forget the password to the archive, which you set yourself, but most often there are situations when the file is downloaded from the Internet, and you are asked to transfer money for the password to the archive. Paying in such cases is not at all necessary, even undesirable. You can try to open it yourself.

Step 1
Please note that there is no guarantee that the archive will be decrypted; moreover, the more characters in the password, the less chance of its successful decryption. But there is still a chance to decrypt the archive. This requires a special program. Download the ARCHPR application from the Internet and install it on your computer. You need to download the latest version.
Step 2
Run the program. Select the Options line. Select "Russian" in the Language line. Now the program interface will be in Russian. On the right in the upper window of the program there is a line "Attack type". Click on the arrow just below this inscription. A menu will open, where as a method, select "Brute force". Next, pay attention to the toolbar in the middle of the program window. Select Length from the options.
Step 3
If you know exactly how many characters the password consists of, enter this number in both the "Minimum password length" and "Maximum password length" lines. If you do not know how many characters are in the password, put the value "1" in the minimum line and "7" in the maximum. If the number of characters is more than seven, it will be almost impossible to decrypt this file.
Step 4
Next, in the upper window of the program, select "File" and specify the path to the file that you want to decrypt. After that, the decryption process will begin. Please note that even on the most powerful computers, the file decryption process can take more than ten hours. At the end of the process, a window will appear with the result of the program. If the program manages to decrypt the file, there will be a password in this window as well.
Step 5
If the program could not find the password, select "By dictionary" as the program's method of operation. Further, the process is the same as in the first case. The only thing is that the "Length" parameter does not need to be specified, since it will be unavailable in this case.
