As a rule, subtitles downloaded separately from the movie do not fit into the video; can be out of step with the sound track, lag behind or ahead of it. It also becomes necessary to combine subtitle files to record a two-disc movie into one file.
Necessary
- - computer;
- - Subtitle Workshop program.
Instructions
Step 1
Trim subtitles downloaded separately from the movie. Open the subtitle file, if the encoding is Unicode, you must now change it to Windows-1251 encoding. To do this, open the subtitle file using Notepad.
Step 2
Execute the "File" command, select the "Save As" command. Leave the file name, select the Ansi format from the "Encoding" list. Click "Save". Further, if the subtitles start to go at the same speed as the video, but the text appears earlier or later than the sound, synchronize them.
Step 3
Combine two disc titles for a movie on one disc. To do this, in the Subtitle Workshop program, go to the Tools menu, then select the Merge Subtitles command. In the dialog box that opens, add the files to be merged to the list.
Step 4
Before doing this, make sure that the checkboxes are checked in the items "Recalculate time" and "Load file after saving and combining". Next, start the process of merging subtitles, enter a new file name for them.
Step 5
Wait for the subtitles to load in the program, press the key combination Ctrl + Q to open the preview mode, then load the video file using the Ctrl + P keys. Click on the first subtitle and play the video to the first text displayed in the credits.
Step 6
At this point, press Ctrl + 1. Then select the last subtitle in the first file, find the corresponding place in the movie and press Ctrl + 2. Similarly, adjust the subtitles for the second disc of the movie.
Step 7
Play the video at the splicing points to make sure the subtitles are merged correctly. If necessary, make changes to the file sync and start playing the movie again. If you are satisfied with the result, save your changes using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + S.
