Step 1
For Windows XP and other earlier versions, these plugins can be installed separately. They are provided by default in Windows 7. The module collection is a panel that displays widgets. The programs show the weather, hours, news, exchange rates. You can modify the main collection yourself.
Step 2
Right-click in the desktop window, in the menu that appears, select the line "Gadgets". To add one of them to the desktop, double-click on the selected icon.
Step 3
To remove an installed module from the desktop, hover the mouse pointer over it - small icons will appear. The "Close" button removes the gadget from the desktop. There are also functions for changing parameters, the ability to move the gadget to another place.
Step 4
If you want to remove a gadget from the collection, right-click on the selected icon and select "Remove". All standard Windows 7 modules can be restored. To do this, open the "Control Panel", find "Appearance and Personalization", click on the line "Restore Desktop Gadgets" in the "Gadgets" section.
Step 5
You can disable Desktop Gadgets from the Control Panel. To do this, open the "Control Panel" and go to "Programs and Features". From the menu on the left side of the screen, select Turn Windows Features On / Off. To disable the module, uncheck the box "Windows gadgets platform", restart your computer.
Step 6
To remove the plugin, right-click on the desktop. In the menu that appears, select "View", then uncheck the box next to the line "Display desktop gadgets".
Step 7
You can turn off the module only for one account, if there are several of them in the system. To do this, click "Start", in the search box, enter gpedit.msc. In the menu on the left side, open "Policy", then "Local Computer" → "User Configuration" → "Administrative Templates" → "Windows Components" → "Desktop Gadgets". Go to the right side of the editor window and left-click on the line "Disable desktop gadgets".
Step 8
The function can be disabled for all accounts created in the system. To do this, open Policy → Local Computer → Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → Windows Components → Desktop Gadgets. Then go to the right side of the editor and double-click on the line "Disable desktop gadgets".
