If your operating system refuses to boot and gives errors, one of the reasons may be a failure in system files and damage to the Windows registry. An experienced user always backs up the system registry before major changes, in order to restore the system to an earlier state in the event of a malfunction. If there is no such copy, you can use copies of Windows itself.
Necessary
- - computer;
- - the Internet.
Instructions
Step 1
Boot your computer from a DOS optical disc. You can use any service disk assembly that has a Dos system. To boot your computer from disk, configure the Boot partition in the BIOS. As a rule, there are many versions of this system on the Internet. Choose the option that suits you best. Enter the SCANREG / RESTORE command and press enter on your keyboard. Select one of the registry copies from the list - they are saved by the operating system automatically each time you successfully log on to the system (but usually no more than five are stored).
Step 2
Select the latest copy of the registry by the date and time it was created. Press enter and give the program time to complete the operation - on modern computers this happens quite quickly. You can save a backup copy of the registry yourself using the SCANREG / BACKUP command.
Step 3
This procedure should be performed every time before you install applications that make changes to the system files of the operating system. If you are not sure that applications downloaded from the Internet are safe, it is better not to install them, as this can damage not only the operating system, but also the components of the personal computer.
Step 4
Restart your computer. Restoration will occur up to the moment when this backup was made. All installed programs and other changes in the registry after this point will be irretrievably lost. It is also worth noting that for the most optimal solution to this problem, you need to create backups not only of the computer registry, but also of the entire operating system, and store copies of data on removable media. Use licensed software to keep all information safe.
