The Word text editor from the Microsoft Office package is the most widespread and popular program for writing, editing and reading text. To work with the program was comfortable, you need to properly configure it and be able to use the basic tools.
Instructions
Step 1
Microsoft has released several versions of the Microsoft Office suite. The most common are Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft Office 2007 and Microsoft Office 2010. The first is the simplest, and in many ways more convenient than older versions. The text editor from Office 2007 is already very different from the 2003 version in terms of interface, it is more difficult to understand its settings. The 2010 version will be easier for users already familiar with Word 2007.
Step 2
If you are working in Word 2003, the easiest way to remove pagination is as follows: double-click the page number, the header and footer will be highlighted. After that, with one more mouse click, select the page number itself and press Del. The number will be deleted. Double-click again anywhere in the text, the selection of the header and footer will be canceled. The page numbers will disappear throughout the text.
Step 3
If you are working in Word 2007 and Word 2010, to delete page numbers, open: "Insert" - "Headers and Footers" - "Page Number". In the list of commands that appears, select "Remove Page Numbers". The variant described just above for Word 2003 also works.
Step 4
In the event that you work a lot with texts, it is important to correctly configure the operating system and editor settings. Check if you have the ClearType option turned on, it dramatically improves the display of text on LCD screens. To do this, open: "Start" - "Control Panel", find the item "ClearType Settings". If necessary, run the setup wizard and follow its instructions.
Step 5
In the text editor settings, set the minimum auto-save time - one minute. This will ensure that your text is not lost in the event of a power outage or system failure.
Step 6
Adjust the font settings so that the text is easy to read and does not tire your eyes. The most commonly used font is Times New Roman, 12 point. Set the desired scale depending on the size of the screen and the set resolution. For example, if the text looks too small at the standard scale of 100%, in Word 2003 open: "View" - "Scale" and set the desired value. In Word 2007 and 2010, drag the slider in the lower-right corner of the screen to the desired position.
