When preparing documents of large size, it is customary to indicate the numbering of pages so that when reading you can easily navigate the contents of the document. When formatting and copying a part of the text, the numbering "gets confused" - in this case, this data must be deleted. This is pretty easy to do.

Word program
Instructions
Step 1
Open a Word document in a Microsoft Office program. Scroll to the location where the document numbering is located. Double click on the page number to highlight the item. Numbering in Word documents is outside the body text - in the footer (or header) area. Header / footer edges are indicated by strokes. This also includes literary references and notes by the author, as well as other information that should be taken out of the text.
Step 2
Press Del to delete the highlighted page number. Or, right-click the header and select Change Header, and then delete the page number. To remove the entire header and footer, double-click on the area of this element. Click on the "Header" item and click on the inscription "Delete the header", and all the contents of this section of the page will disappear. You can also use the mouse to set the desired position on the page to completely remove the numbering.
Step 3
Note that removing the header or footer will remove the numbering throughout the document. To specify specific settings for each header and footer, go to the parameters of this area. You can create a special header and footer for the first page, as well as different headers and footers for odd and even pages. You can also go to the settings of this software yourself and configure all the parameters. Go to the "Insert" tab. Next, select the button called "Page Numbers". In this menu there is a small window, which contains several settings. You can customize the numbering format or completely remove pages from the sheets. You can also change the standard numbering to alphabetic or symbolic.
