Smart use of a computer involves more than just working with software. One of the important components is hard drives. For normal operation, it is necessary that there are at least two of them.

Step 1
The simplest and most common option is to use specialized software. The most user-friendly program is PowerQuest Partition. The version of the program is determined by the operating system installed on the computer. Currently there are versions for Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.
Step 2
Download the installation file and run it. Follow the instructions provided by the installer. Select the location where you want to install the program. After the application shortcut appears on your desktop, restart your computer. The program is ready to use.
Step 3
Start PowerQuest. You will see a window in which you need to select "Run in advanced user mode". With this function, you can divide your hard drive into 2 parts in much more detail. You need to determine which of the sections will serve for storing the current files (programs, games, applications, etc.), and which for the system ones.
Step 4
Go to the "Master" tab and find there an item called "Create Section". A window with many settings will appear in front of you. Determine the number of future hard drives, the size of each of them. To avoid confusion, it is not recommended to make too many partitions. After you set all the necessary criteria, click on the "Apply" or "Start" button. Immediately after restarting your computer, your hard drive will be divided into 2 parts.
