Step 1
Determine your cartridge model. It is usually written on a special sticker glued to the back of the printing device. Purchase a special kit for refilling cartridges according to your printer model - these are sold in computer stores, as well as in various places where copiers and related products are sold. They can also be purchased at the Bayard store, if there is one in your city.
Step 2
Please note: laser printers are filled with powder ink - toner, and inkjet printers - with special ink. Typically, such kits include a new chip and toner (ink); in some cases, special chip programmers are on sale. Some kits also have different ink colors, and sometimes monochrome options come across.
Step 3
After purchasing a refill kit, carefully read the instructions for replacing the cartridge chip. Follow it carefully if you want to avoid damaging your cartridge and printer. After that, disassemble your cartridge, if it is from a laser printer, clean its container from toner residues, clean its parts from settled ink with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Step 4
Please note that toner contains substances hazardous to life and health, do not allow it to come into contact with your face, eyes and respiratory tract. Put toner in a container, about 10% less than what you should, reassemble the cartridge. Shake it from side to side, install it in your printer, and print a test page.
Step 5
Reflash or replace the inkjet cartridge chip, clean the ink container, refill it with ink, close it, install it into the cartridge and print test pages. If you do photo printing, do not use inkjet cartridges refilled many times - this will noticeably affect the quality of photos.
