Temporary folders are created by most applications to save modifiable files necessary for the correct operation of programs. It is expected that when the program is closed, the temporary files will be deleted. Unfortunately, this does not always happen. Therefore, to increase free disk space, it is necessary to clean up temporary files.
Instructions
Step 1
Click the "Start" button and select "Run (Start -> Run) for Windows XP or" All Programs "for Windows Vista / 7. In the second case, open "Standard" and go to "Run".

Enter the value% TEMP% in the "Open" line in the "Run" window that opens.
Step 3
Press the Ctrl and A softkeys on your keyboard at the same time to select all the files contained in the temporary folder.

Press the Del key to delete all temporary files.

Confirm your choice by clicking the "Yes" button. The largest number of temporary files is created when the Internet browser is running, so it must be cleaned without fail.

Open your internet browser.

Select "Tools" from the program window menu and open "Delete Browsing History".

Select uninstall options. Options offered include Delete All, Delete Files, Delete Cookies, Delete Passwords, and Delete History. The choice of cleaning parameters depends on the wishes of the user.

Confirm your choice in the opened file deletion confirmation window.

Wait until the end of cleaning. It should be borne in mind that the time it takes to clear temporary files depends on their number. The deletion window will be closed automatically.

Shut down your browser.

Restart your browser and enter the "Service" menu in the application window menu to configure automatic deletion of temporary files.

Go to Internet Options and select the Advanced tab.

Find the "Security" section and check the box next to "Delete all files from the temporary Internet files folder when the browser is closed."
