There comes a time when the term of use of a particular platform on a computer is coming to an end and it needs to be updated. Some of them are updated automatically, and some are not. It is worth considering the algorithm for performing this procedure.
Instructions
Step 1
Go to the Windows Update website. Open Internet Explorer (5 or later) and go to the Tools menu in Windows Update. Alternatively, you can simply enter the URL for the Widows update site on the Microsoft portal. To successfully complete this operation, use only the Internet Explorer browser, in others an error message will appear. Follow the link to the Windows Update directory.
Step 2
Click "apply admin functions" in the left menu. Once these functions appear on the screen, search for the Windows Update catalog under the "operating system updates" section.
Step 3
Install "Active Control X" if required. In the Microsoft Update catalog, you will see updates in the search box (for Vista or XP operating systems). Add updates to the list of installables. To do this, click the "add" button next to each update that you want to install.
Step 4
Check the status of the downloaded updates. Click the "View Cart" button in the upper right corner of the screen as soon as you have finished updating the system. Make sure it contains all the necessary updates and click download. In the Download Options pop-up window, choose where you want to download all the files. The indicator will show the loading status.
Step 5
Go to the folder where the file was downloaded. Double click the left mouse button on all files to check the installation. You will probably be prompted to restart your computer when the operation is complete.
Step 6
Save all files to media such as a USB stick or disc and download them to your computer. Do this when you need to download updates for a computer that is not connected to the Internet. By double clicking on the files, install them as in the case of downloading from the Internet.
