Modern personal computers for home and office use are composed of individual devices from various manufacturers. Each unit of such computer "hardware" has individual characteristics, so manufacturers attach special programs to it - drivers. They play the role of pilots or drivers trained to work with this particular model - the operating system tells the driver what needs to be done, and he performs the task with the most efficient use of the features of the serviced device.

Step 1
If a Genius device came to you in a complete set, then it must have an optical disc on which a set of drivers for various versions of operating systems and some additional programs are recorded. Installing the driver in this case is a very simple task. Insert the disk into the reader and wait for the operating system to find the executable file on it. After that, the OS will display a dialog with options for further actions - select the launch of the startup file.
Step 2
The menus of each such disk are organized differently for different Genius devices, but there must be an item in it, the wording of which means installing the driver. Select this item, and a special program will start - the installation wizard. You just have to follow the instructions that will appear on the screen.
Step 3
If there is no disc with the software, download the necessary installation files from the company's website - the link to it is given below. The information there is divided into sections and subsections, each of which refers to a specific type of device. Find the page with information about your model and the link to download the driver at the bottom of it. Having saved this file, select it and press Enter - this action should launch the installation wizard described in the previous step.
Step 4
Some devices - for example, ordinary mice - do not require installation of drivers, just plug them into a USB port and the operating system will select and install the appropriate driver from its own database. Installing PS / 2 devices is just as easy, but you need to plug them in with your computer turned off.
Step 5
Uncomplicated devices may not be accompanied by installers, but information files (inf extension). In this case, manual installation using the "Device Manager" may be required. In Windows 7 and Vista, to launch it, open the main menu, type "dis" and click on the "Device Manager" link in the list of search results.
Step 6
In the dispatcher window, find the line of the device you need, right-click it and select the "Update drivers" item in the context menu. In the next form, click on the item "Search for drivers on this computer", and then using the dialog opened by the "Browse" button, specify the location of the inf-file. Click the "Next" button, and the OS will do the rest by itself.
