At intervals of 1–2 years or more, Microsoft releases updates to its Office product line. Updates can be installed without removing the previous version of the application and personal data.
Instructions
Step 1
Purchase an update for the Microsoft Office product line. It can be either a completely new version of applications, for example, Microsoft Office 10 or Microsoft Office 2014, etc., or sets of updates for an existing version - Service Pack 1.2. Find out about the current updates on the Microsoft website, and then purchase the licensed version of the software online (or download it for free, if available) or in hardware stores.
Step 2
Run the update installation file and follow the instructions on the screen. If you are asked to reinstall the product by uninstalling the current one, or to update while preserving your personal data, select the second option. Please note that the installed version of the products must also be licensed, otherwise the software update may be refused.
Step 3
Enter the license key for the application in the window that appears. You can find the code on the packaging of the disc you purchased or in the accompanying documents for the installation file that you downloaded on the Internet. As soon as you enter the key, the installation wizard will offer to activate the program in one of two ways - via the Internet or by phone.
Step 4
Select the activation method via the Internet if you have a network connection. The program will automatically send a request to the Microsoft licensing server, and if you have previously specified the correct key, a notification will appear that the activation was completed successfully. To register by phone, select the appropriate option in the list, then indicate the region of your stay and call the number indicated on the screen, completing the activation procedure.
Step 5
You can activate Office later by selecting the Delayed Activation option. Each time you start the program, it will remind you of this. To complete the procedure, in the "File" tab, go to the "Help" section and select "Activate Product Key".
