The procedure for transferring data, including the address book, from a phone to a desktop computer, or vice versa, is called synchronization. Synchronizing a mobile device with a computer running Windows requires the use of special software.

Step 1
The synchronization procedure is carried out using additional software. The specific program depends on the phone model. Most manufacturers include such programs in the package, although universal versions are also distributed free of charge on the Internet. Some of these programs:
- Alcatel PC Suite - for Alcatel phones;
- LG PC Sync - for LG phones;
- Mobile Phone Tools - for Motorola phones;
- Nokia PC Suite - for Nokia phones;
- Easy Studio - for Samsung phones;
- Mobile Phone Manager - for Siemens phones;
- Sony Ericsson File Manager - for Sony Ericsson phones.
Step 2
The phone can be connected to a desktop computer using a special USB cable or via Bluetooth. The first option seems to be preferable, due to the fact that the speed of information exchange in this case is higher. At the same time, the use of a USB cable may require the installation of new drivers necessary for the correct operation of the device. The use of Bluetooth technology in some cases may not be possible without a special adapter.
Step 3
Find the shortcut of the synchronization program in the main system menu "Start". Please note that in some cases these applications may be displayed with a special icon in the notification area. There is also an option to update data automatically when the phone is connected to a computer. Run the application.
Step 4
Configure the settings for the synchronization program. To transfer address book data, you will need to determine which line of the phone's address book will correspond to the name and which line will correspond to the subscriber's surname and decide whether to supplement the computer's phone book with data from the phone, or change the phone's address book by adding information from the computer. You also need to select the desired action in relation to the same records. Confirm the saving of the changes made by clicking the OK button and wait until the data transfer is completed.
