The desire to change or completely remove the welcome screen in the Microsoft Windows operating system is known to every user. There are quite a number of specialized programs that provide the ability to radically change the appearance of the system, but to cancel the display of the welcome screen, you can use the internal resources of Windows OS.
Instructions
Step 1
Click the "Start" button to bring up the main menu of the Microsoft Windows operating system and go to the "Control Panel" item to perform the operation of prohibiting the use of the welcome page.
Step 2
Expand the User Accounts node and select the Change User Logon link.
Step 3
Uncheck the Use Welcome Page checkbox and confirm the selected changes by clicking OK.
Step 4
Return to the main Start menu and go to Run for an alternative procedure for disabling the welcome screen.
Step 5
Enter regedit in the Open field and click OK to confirm the command to run the Registry Editor tool.
Step 6
Expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionWinlogon registry key and make sure the defaultusername parameter looks like defaultusername username or make the necessary changes.
Step 7
Make sure the forceUnlockLogon parameter is set to 1 or make the necessary changes.
Step 8
Change the value of the parameter AutoAdminLogon = 0 to AutoAdminLogon = 1 (with a single user of the computer) and exit the application.
Step 9
Return to the main system menu "Start" again to perform the next operation to disable the display of the welcome screen and enter the value control userpasswords2 in the search bar field.
Step 10
Press the Enter function key to confirm the command execution and specify the "Allow" command in the system prompt window that opens.
Step 11
Uncheck the box "Require username and password" and confirm the application of the selected changes by clicking the "Apply" button.
Step 12
Confirm your administrator authority again by entering the password in the appropriate field in the new Auto Logon dialog box and click OK.
