The set of utilities for administration in Windows includes programs for managing local security policy, starting system services, a task scheduler, and more than a dozen more important controls for its safe and smooth functioning. This set of system applications can be accessed in several ways, which may vary from OS version to OS.
Instructions
Step 1
Expand the Windows main menu by clicking on the Start button or by pressing any of the two Win buttons on the keyboard. Find the link "Control Panel" - in the version of Windows XP it is placed in the "Settings" section, and in later releases of this OS it is visible immediately after opening the main menu. Start the panel.
Step 2
In Windows 7, the Control Panel can also be opened through the standard Windows file manager - Explorer. Launch it by double-clicking on the "My Computer" icon or by pressing the Win + E key combination. The link "Open Control Panel" in the application window is located under the address bar, closer to the right side - click it.
Step 3
Click on the System and Security link in the Control Panel. On the page that will open as a result of this action, find the inscription "Administration" - click it and the task of launching a set of administration utilities for your computer's operating system will be solved.
Step 4
In Windows 7, you can reduce the number of steps in this procedure. Expand the main menu and in the "Find programs and files" field, enter only three letters - "admin". Immediately after that, you will receive a search result with a list of links, the topmost of which will be "Administration" - click it and the same window will open as in the previous step.
Step 5
There is also an alternative method that can be applied in any of the widespread versions of Windows today. It uses the standard program launch dialog - this is the window that is launched by selecting the "Run" item in the main menu of the operating system. In recent OS versions this link has been removed from the main menu, but the dialog can still be invoked using hotkeys - press Ctrl + R to launch it.
Step 6
Type (or copy and paste) the control admintools command in the only input field of the dialog that opens and click on the OK button (or press Enter). As a result, the same window with a set of administration utilities will be launched.
